Getting started

How do I get started with CranePOS? +
Contact us on WhatsApp (+256 704 031 764) or fill in the contact form on our website. Our team will set up your account and configure it for your specific business type - usually the same day.
How long does setup take? +
Most businesses are fully set up within a few hours. Our team helps you import your product catalogue, configure your branches, and add your staff. We do not leave you to figure it out alone.
Do I need any technical knowledge? +
No. CranePOS is designed to be easy to use for anyone. If you can use a smartphone, you can use CranePOS. Our team also provides hands-on training.
Is training included? +
Yes. All plans include initial onboarding and training for your team. We walk you through every feature that is relevant to your business type.

Features & usage

Is CranePOS cloud-based? +
Yes. CranePOS is fully cloud-based, meaning you can access your business data from any device with a modern internet browser - phone, tablet, or laptop. Your data is automatically backed up.
Do I need special hardware? +
No special hardware is required. CranePOS works on any computer, tablet, or smartphone. You can optionally connect a Bluetooth receipt printer or USB barcode scanner if you have one.
Can I use CranePOS offline? +
CranePOS requires an internet connection to sync data. We recommend a reliable internet connection (mobile data works fine) for the best experience.
Can I manage multiple business branches? +
Yes - with the Premium plan you can manage multiple business locations from a single account. Each branch has its own stock levels, staff assignments, and reports.
Can I transfer stock between branches? +
Yes. The Premium plan includes stock transfers between branches, with full tracking of what was transferred, when, and by whom.
How many users can I have? +
The Starter plan supports up to 3 users. The Premium plan has no user limit.
Can I import my existing product list? +
Yes. We can help you import your products from a spreadsheet during setup. Contact our team and we will guide you through the process.

Pricing & billing

How much does CranePOS cost? +
The Starter plan is UGX 900,000 per year. The Premium plan is UGX 1,500,000 per year. Both are billed once a year with no per-transaction fees and no hidden charges.
Are there any hidden fees or per-transaction charges? +
None. You pay one annual fee and that is it. We do not charge per transaction, per user (on Premium), or per product.
How do I pay? +
We accept mobile money (MTN MoMo and Airtel Money), bank transfer, and cash at our Kampala office. Our team will guide you through payment when you sign up.
Can I upgrade from Starter to Premium? +
Yes, at any time. We will prorate the remaining period and you only pay the difference. Contact us on WhatsApp to upgrade.
What happens when my subscription expires? +
We will send renewal reminders before your subscription expires. If your subscription lapses, your data is preserved and you can renew at any time to regain full access.

Security & data

Is my business data secure? +
Yes. All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. Your data is backed up daily and stored securely. Only your authorised users can access your account.
Who owns my data? +
You do. Your business data belongs to you. We do not sell your data to third parties or use it for any purpose other than running your CranePOS account.
Can I export my data? +
Yes. You can export reports, sales records, stock data, and customer lists from within CranePOS at any time.

Support

What support do I get? +
All plans include support via WhatsApp, phone, and email. Our support team is based in Kampala and is available during business hours (and often beyond). We respond quickly.
Do you offer in-person support? +
Yes. For businesses in Kampala and the greater Kampala area, we can arrange in-person visits for setup, training, or troubleshooting. Contact us to arrange this.
